Ahhh the York Dungeon. The mention of this grisly, gruesome place brings back some special memories for me. It’s where I enjoyed my first date with my husband many moons ago. If you would like to woo your loved one or simply treat the whole family to a top day out then enter our competition to win a family ticket.
One of my personal favourite York attractions, the Dungeons brings to life some of York’s most notorious and gruesome historical figures: discover the behind the infamous murderer and highwayman Dick Turpin, hear the story of Eric Bloodaxe and his Viking warriors and follow Guy Fawkes as his explosive plot is uncovered.
As well as plenty of blood and gore there are eleven live shows and a host of actors and special effects to ensure you will be scared and educated in equal measures. The Dungeon is a fun packed day out for the whole family and should definitely be top of your list of things to do in York.
To win a family ticket for up to 2 adults and 2 children to the Dungeons valid until 31st March 2012 (for the Blackpool, Edinburgh, London venues as well) just answer this simple question – In what year was Dick Turpin executed at York Knavesmire? Send your answers by email to firstname.lastname@example.org/wordpress/ by 15th December and the winner will be chosen at random and tickets posted before Christmas.
